Advantage: Because the DC Axial Fan electromagnetic interference is very small, sensitive electronic equipment usually use DC fan to prevent electromagnetic interference. For example, computer applications and devices rely on DC fans to prevent overheating while minimize electromagnetic interference that may have a negative impact on sensitive applications.

Advantage: DC fans are widely considered to be the most effective fans. They consume significantly less power than the AC fan. In fact, the energy consumed by the DC fan is reduced by 70% to produce the same output as the other fan types. For example, this means that a 25 Watt DC drive fan uses the same power as the 100 Watt AC drive fan. This is an ideal choice for commercial facilities, such as restaurants, so that you can have fans all day long without generating astronomical electricity bills.

Advantage: DC fan with new electric reversing motor (ECM). These motors are not only super efficient, but also very quiet. Because they are quiet, DC fans are a good choice for applications such as medical devices, telecommunications switches, or automotive entertainment systems. In which noise can be unpleasant.

Advantage: DC fans use less voltage than AC fans. Most DC fans are low pressure fans. For example, you can usually find the 5V, 12V, and 24V versions of the DC fan. Larger models of DC fans, such as 119mm to 172mm fan models, are commonly available for 48V. In contrast, the vast majority of AC cooling fan models have 115V, much higher voltage. The lower voltage also reduces the risk of the DC fan.

Disadvantage: The major disadvantages of DC fans is that they do not provide direct, constant flow. Instead, they provide variable, nonuniform flows.

Disadvantage: although AC fans use alternating current, reverses direction, DC fan uses direct current, which means current can only flow in one direction. Unlike AC fans, the direct current fan cannot be connected directly to a DC power supply, such as a solar panel or battery. This means that the DC fan must use a transformer to convert the AC to direct current so that the fan can supply power.
